Meals on Wheels Culver Palms serves individuals in need, regardless of age.
To qualify, a person must be homebound and/or and unable to shop for or prepare meals on their own due to illness, recovery, or ongoing health needs.
We can provide meals on a short-term basis—such as during recovery from surgery or illness—or on an ongoing basis, depending on individual needs.
-
In most cases, clients begin receiving meals within 48 hours of signing up. If we are able to start sooner, we will. We understand how important timely service is and work to begin delivery as quickly as possible.
-
We understand that not everyone can afford the full cost. Thanks to generous support from our community, Meals on Wheels Culver Palms is able to offer financial assistance to clients who qualify.
If you’re unable to pay the full amount, please let us know. We’ll ask a few brief questions about your income and household situation to determine whether you qualify for a reduced rate or subsidy.
As a community-funded program, our resources are limited and assistance is provided based on need. Our goal is to ensure that seniors in our service area have access to nutritious meals while keeping the program sustainable for everyone we serve.
-
We work with local kitchens that prepare meals for seniors and follow all health regulations.
A nutritionist oversees all meal preparation, ensuring each meal meets nutrition and safety standards.
-
We prefer that meals be received at the door whenever possible. However, our drivers are happy to assist by bringing meals into your home if needed. They can place meals on a table, in your kitchen, or in your refrigerator, whatever is most helpful.
-
Inform us of any food allergies or special dietary needs when you apply. Our commercial kitchen handles common allergens, but we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
Our menus are reviewed for nutrition and balance, and we can adjust or substitute items for clients with specific medical or dietary requirements. If we cannot safely meet your needs, we will help connect you with alternative resources or community programs.
Your safety and health are our top priorities, and we are committed to providing nutritious meals for you to enjoy.
-
Yes. You can pause or cancel your meals for a few days without losing your place in the program. We understand that schedules change—you may have appointments, visitors, or other plans.
We kindly request at least 48 hours’ notice to pause or cancel service so our kitchen and volunteers can plan accordingly.
If we receive notice less than 24 hours before delivery, we may still need to charge for the meal, as it will have already been prepared and scheduled for delivery.
Thank you for helping us reduce waste and keep the program sustainable for everyone we serve.
